The United States has the highest number of deaths of the virus worldwide, with 762 confirmed cases, according to the World Health Organization (WHO).
This is according to data from the WHO, which said the country with the most cases was Sierra Leone with 532.
The UK, which has recorded a smaller number of confirmed cases than other European countries, has recorded 968.
As the epidemic has been spreading across Africa, a total of 6,000 people have died in Sierra Leone, Liberia and Guinea, according the WHO.
According to the WHO’s latest death toll, there have been 853 deaths in Guinea, and 5,854 in Sierra, the most recent data available, from May 13.
WHO says it will release more data on the number of new cases in the coming days, and the number and distribution of confirmed and suspected cases in West Africa.
